Bermaq AMI-C vs Kuper Euracryl ABP 310
Both are automatic CNC large-format polishers for straight and beveled edges on parts up to 122" long and 4.72" thick; the difference is in how long a part you turn and how you hold it. Choose the ABP 310 if you need to turn very long pieces — the manufacturer lists up to 6,200 mm (about 244") with workpiece turning; confirm panel support and setup for your configuration — or want a vacuum table and up to 20 clamps; its UHPC technical-concrete core is built for vibration damping.
Choose the AMI-C if 82.6" or 122" covers your work: it comes in two working lengths, tilts automatically (confirm the angle range for the machine you are quoted), polishes 5 to 10 parts per cycle and takes thicker parts at 45° (4.13" vs 3.35").
Automatic CNC vs the semi-automatic AM2-i
The difference is who sets the angle: the AMI-C and ABP 310 tilt and set depth automatically, while the Bermaq AM2-i uses a manually tilted head from 0° to +45°. The AM2-i still has automatic feed and touchscreen parameter control, covers parts up to 55" and polishes up to 5 per cycle.
Automatic tilting saves setup time when angles change between jobs and suits higher volume, at a larger footprint and investment. If your angles repeat and your parts are under 55", the AM2-i is often the more practical fit.
A26 straight-edge finishing vs V20S beveling
The A26 Cube polishes straight 90° edges; the V20S Cube mills and polishes 45° bevels and chamfers. They do different jobs: a dedicated beveler is not a substitute for straight 90° edge polishing, and the A26 doesn’t bevel.
The A26 takes material up to about 1" (26 mm) and parts 2" to 31.5" long, or up to 48" with extensions. The V20S feeds material through on a conveyor belt, handles 0.08" to 3" thickness and cuts a bevel up to about 0.4" across the diagonal. If you need both, pair the two — or choose a straight-edge polisher with a tilting head (AMI-C, ABP 310 or AM2-i).
V20S vs V30
Pick the V20S for fixed 45° chamfers and the V30 when you need other bevel angles. Both are Euracryl Cube bevelers with automatic feed and digital readouts for material 0.08" to 3" thick.
The V20S is the compact unit you can move around the shop. The V30 is a larger station with tilting guides, so you can set the angle for jobs such as glued box joints.
How to choose
- Material. Every model is listed for cast and extruded PMMA and PC. If you run PETG, SAN or laminated sheet, check the material table — the AM2-i is listed for PMMA, PC and composites such as Dibond.
- Longest part. Up to 31.5" (48" with extensions): A26. Up to 55": AM2-i. Up to 82.6" or 122": AMI-C. Up to 3,100 mm (about 122"), or longer pieces with workpiece turning (listed to 6,200 mm, about 244"): ABP 310 — confirm panel support for your setup. The bevelers feed parts through.
- Thickness. Nominal capacities are about 1" (26 mm) on the A26, 0.08"–3" on the V20S and V30, and up to 4.72" on the large-format machines. Capacities differ between machine generations, so confirm the exact model, thickness tolerance, bevel depth and tooling with a test on your own samples before ruling a machine in or out.
- Bevels. None: a straight-edge polisher. Repeated 45° chamfers on smaller parts: V20S. Other angles on smaller parts: V30. Bevels on large parts: AM2-i (manual tilt, to +45°), or the automatic AMI-C or ABP 310 (CNC-controlled tilt up to +63° on the ABP 310) — confirm the angle range for the quoted configuration.
- Volume. Parts per cycle range from one at a time on the Cubes to 5 on the AM2-i and 5–10 on the AMI-C; the ABP 310 adds a vacuum table and up to 20 clamps.
- Space and utilities. The large-format machines need 3-phase power, 6 bar compressed air, 80 mm dust extraction and floor space — confirm installation dimensions for the exact variant you are quoted. The Cubes run on 230 V — 120 V with a step-up converter — with 32 mm chip extraction.
Test on your own material
